Mine Rescue team
Who We Are:
The Colorado School of Mines Mine Rescue Team (CSMMRT) is a student club whose mission is to educateabout mine safety and emergency response. We were founded in 2009 as one of the first collegiate mine rescue programs, and since then have competed against other teams across the country and the world.
What We Do:
We develop and train in the specialized rescue skills required for mine rescue including:
-underground mapping
-safe exploration
-firefighting
-high angle rope rescue
-first aid
We train weekly to prepare for competitions across four events: the Underground Problem, First Aid, Benching, and Tech. Training occurs between campus facilities and the Edgar Experimental mine for annual international, national, and regional events.
