Mine Rescue team

The Colorado School of Mines Mine Rescue Team (CSMMRT) is a student club on campus whose mission is to educate students and community members about mine safety and emergency response related to Mine Rescue. We develop specialized rescue skills from underground rescue, to firefighting, to high angle rope rescue. CSMMRT was founded in 2009 as one of the first collegiate mine rescue programs, and since then we have competed against others across the country and from around the world.

Training

We train weekly to prepare for competitions across four events: the Underground Problem, First Aid, Benching, and Tech. Training occurs between campus facilities and the Edgar Experimental mine for annual international, national, and regional events.

Join us

Though we share an interest in mine rescue, our team members come from a range of majors. Our organization provides opportunities for students to learn about the mining industry and industrial safety.
