The Electron Wizards
The electrical subsystem has two important roles on the team. First is the design and assembly of custom hardware for data acquisition, processing, and wireless transmission. Second is planning and fabrication of a wiring harness that connects engine control modules and sensors to create a complete network of all electrical components.
The former works closely with the software team to acquire as much comprehensive data as possible to allow other subsystems to improve their parts with data driven decisions. The latter focuses on weight reduction while still meeting all mechanical and electrical requirements. In addition, the wiring harness uses aerospace wiring design practices to ensure zero failures during competition.
