Welcome BBQ
Each year the Colorado School of Mines SWE section hosts a welcome barbecue the first weekend of school. This is the section’s largest recruitment event attracting nearly 400 students. The barbecue is intended to introduce new women students to Mines SWE. The event’s informal setting enables students to mingle with each other, Xcel engineers, and staff. Xcel Energy sponsors the event each year, and are supportive advocates of Mines SWE. All Mines students are invited to attend. Returning SWE members, graduate women, or any students interested in learning more about SWE before joining as a member. We look forward to meeting you the first weekend of school!
