Help us spread the word for Girls are SMART (Studious, Mighty, Amazing, Resilient, and Talented) conference hosted by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) collegiate section at Colorado School of Mines! This event involves gathering students in grades 1st– 5th on the Mines campus to do science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities and explore what it means to be an engineer and scientist. Each interactive activity will present an opportunity to create a simple and unique art project that demonstrates STEM concepts. A variety of topics will be covered that relate many of the disciplines studied at Mines!
At Girls are SMART, students will:
● Learn about the scientific process and design processes
● Build problem-solving and communication skills
● Engage with various fields of STEM
