OUR STORY

Maker Society was started in early 2015 by a group of passionate students who wanted a space where students could be more hands on and decide the resources they wanted; they wanted a makerspace. These students took the hard road and decided to create their own space for current and future students at Mines. Through hard work Maker Society built a 600+ member base, and growing, in the Mines community. They started workshops to teach everything from Arduino to welding. Since 2015, Maker Society has generated the creation of two full makerspaces at Mines; the Blaster Design Factory in Brown Building Atrium and the Digger Design Lab and Woodshop in the basement of the Engineering Annex (EDS).
