No Frame, No Gain

The chassis is the foundation of the car that connects all other subsystems and protects the driver. The chassis subsystem oversees the design, validation, and validation of the frame and its components. Mines Formula uses a space frame design made from steel tubing that is jigged and welded in-house by team members. Dozens of sheet metal tabs are used to connect the frame to the car’s other subsystems. The chassis forms the safety cell for the driver and is built to conform to stringent FSAE regulations. The end product is a strong, stiff, safe, and lightweight structure that holds the car together at high speeds.
